(more of a 4.5 but rounding up) Support black-owned businesses!!! This restaurant is an iconic restaurant that now has 3 locations. I've actually been to the Newton location already and now I've hit the South End! The ambiance is very classy and chic. Service was a bit messy - we had multiple servers come and take our order. This restaurant has arguably the BESTTTT pesto I've ever had. I'm still in shock. It was packed with flavor, not too salty or oily, and had sweet nuts to balance it out. The burrata that came with it... COME ON. It was so soft and fresh- adding to the experience. On top of that, the garlic bread was beautifully toasted. I couldn't stop eating it. We cleaned the plate. We also got glazed duck wings and arancini as appetizers. The duck wings were definitely sweet and had unique flavor profiles. It could've been so good but it was a bit too fried so it had tough areas. I love the arancini. It was my 3rd time getting it! The marinara sauce is a perfect pair to the crispy, cheesy arancini and the textures of the rice inside are perfectly al dente. Now for the pasta. We got the carbonara because I've never had it at a restaurant. I was disappointed. The pasta was wayyy undercooked and I could still see the white in the noodles. The sauce itself was good but don't know if I would pay money for it again. Mida also offers lots of cocktails! all creative and delish. What stood out was that they offered cocktails as part of the dessert menu! I loved the espresso martini at the end as my dessert. Overall, a a very solid spot for a date night, girls night, or just a treat! If you do go, you MUST GET THE BURRATA PESTO!
10/10 wowowoow the food so good!! Such a great place and one that's in my restaurant rotation. Good vibes and the service was lovely. Would recommend sitting inside as it is quite noisy outside
This place absolutely did not disappoint We are staying in the Airbnb right next-door and it just looked like a nicer place that most likely served good food. my wife and my cousin ordered a variety of different things from appetizers to main dishes and even dessert We were all blown away consistently everything tasted The server Willian was very, very helpful and recommending dishes, and he did not lead us astray. He was very accommodating, friendly and was really good at his job. I would definitely recommend this place and go back again. Very positive experience.
Have mercy!! Mida is incredible! The food is outstanding. The Mangia Monday was a fun experience which allowed me to try several pastas. Everything was amazing. The eggplant parmigiana is the best I've ever eaten and was my personal favorite. The gnocchi was very good too - they were so tender and light - almost like little clouds in your mouth. Their house salad was also top of my list and tiramisu unique and delicious. The service was wonderful too. They anticipate needs and work as a well oiled team. The atmosphere was modern and upbeat. We ate outside which was super loud one night and the second we ate inside. I enjoyed both. Overall this was by far one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. Well done Mida team. You are incredible!
MIDA had exceptional service and very informed waitstaff about their wine selection. The food was good but for the price not as good as expected. The atmosphere did not feel like a fine dining Italian restaurant as it was loud , crowded and provided no intimacy. Overall worth a try but would recommend it for apps and drinks only
What a gem of a spot. The ambiance is positively adorable, with clean white decor interior and a quaint plant-adorned exterior with some tables. My friend and I picked this place for it's gluten-free pasta, as she has a gluten allergy and dining out can be challenging. Mida lists it's allergens on the online menu and the waitstaff is happy to work with dietary restrictions. We split a charred cauliflower appetizer, which was laid atop what appeared to be a red pepper sauce base. It was flavorful and outstanding. I ordered the (gluten) red pesto pasta, which was outstanding. The noodles were soft with a small bite and the sauce was rich in flavor, a bit nutty and spicy. My friend ordered the (gluten free) caccio e pepe which she said was tasty. The only downside for gluten free folks is that the pasta portion is notably smaller for the GF pasta than for the regular, as shown in the image of our two pastas. For dessert I had a pistachio gelato, which came with a drizzle of olive oil on top. It was indulgent and delicious. My friend got the raspberry sorbetto which was so creamy you would think it was gelato! In all, really great spot. Justice for the gluten free pasta portions, hence the removal of one star. Otherwise, I cannot recommend Mida enough.
What an amazing spot in the South End. Pasta was on my must do list on my travels to Boston and I am thoroughly pleased that we chose MIDA. This is the perfect place for a cozy and intimate date or a wine night with your girlfriends. The service is impeccable. Our server was incredibly attentive and service was pretty fast. We started with an order of the arancini and focaccia. Both were rich and flavorful. The mountain of shaved cheese on both were beautiful. My boyfriend had nothing but good things to stay about the short rib lasagna. The entire plate was demolished. My tagliatelle was superb. The bitterness from the broccoli rabe complimented the richness and fattiness of the braised pork making for a wonderful bite. I paired my plate with the negroamaro. For dessert, we took the tiramisu to go and it was amazing. A perfect way to top off a wonderful meal that we will continue to rave about to everyone we know!
